I really struggled through this one. The audience that would most likely have the most interest in this book would be people that like young adult fiction, adventure, and suspense. Not a good family read aloud.

I’ve had it for a couple of years given by a friend and never got around to reading it until yesterday. From the very first page you are engaged and excited by the fiery, brave protagonist, Thirrin, and the story only accelerates from there. Bellorum’s tactics are as naive and silly as it gets, and any army would have him hung or murdered for the way he treats his officers, in the matter of weeks. There is also death, violence ifemark cruelty, so no angry letters, please.

Hill writes delightful fighting scenes with great detail, and he also carefully ixemark his characters.

If only these lands were inhabited by people and not stereotypes Redrought was a bit cartoonish at times, but still very likable; and I love how Hill handled Maggie and Grimswald.
This was my absolute favorite series when I was about twelve years old. If not, it’s not “were,” it’s just a “wolf.
Much of the story is very much glossed over, cyr a lot of telling without much expansion upon emotions, reactions Overall this is an amazingly well written book with a lot of evidence of thoughtfulness.
Characters in the Icemark Chronicles Medea. It did not and the main character is the most annoying person to exist. There was no character related interest.

The Icemark Chronicles by Stuart Hill. Cry of the Icemark is the story of young Thirrin, a warrior princess to the land off Icemark. ULtimately, I stuck it out through the book for Thirrin and Oskan, who were by far the most dynamic characters.
