As I was in a hurry and without any other valid options, I decided to buy the printer and try to hack something under Linux to make it print whatever I wanted; the problem was that there was no information available at all on how it worked and I couldn’t find anyone who had tried to hack it yet as it was a new product. I usually fail doing things on tutorial as I suck on ubuntu but you made it understandable. Better yet, selecting different print sizes also worked fine although the predefined ones are less than the ones supplied with the official Brother driver, but one could define new custom sizes.

It also refuses to feed the label after printing, even by manually pressing the “Feed” button. Now open the new folder in Nautilus which is the default file browser; just double-click the folder.
The problem is, that openSuSE has no brotner mechanism to convert the xml-data to. I had been wondering if your hosting is OK? Open your Downloads folder, then drag the driver files over into the new folder you just created.

Admittedly this is a minor inconvience but I would rather it worked perfectly. The issue at hand is making the Brother QL thermal label printer work as advertised on a system running Ubuntu Linux. Has anyone any suggestions? The only way to detach the label after printing is to press Power, Power, Feed, and then Cut. I got the label printer working with text brtoher.
