I had to read it for my Language class and even though it llnguistics many important concepts I did not enjoy it a bit.

While overall I enjoyed the book; the beginning part was a little confusing to me ,however as I continued it was resolved in the later chapters. Open Preview See a Problem? The author introduced those concepts in such a confusing way that I actually had to ask my professor to clarify a lot of things because the language was not clear and I even felt lost at some points.
The author provides a succinct but lucid outline of the ways in which language has been defined, described, and explored, and guides readers towards further exploration of their own. I’m giving it four stars not because I really liked it as goodreads indicates but because I think it’s a book that I’m not sure how to rate this book.
